As you already know, that is if you’ve been following this blog (see this entry for more info – https://dreamsawakemovie.com/2011/02/screenings-preliminary-info/), we fell behind in getting our ‘Host a Screening’ Program off the ground.  Well I’m here to tell you that as of April 15th (today) we now officially have a viable program ready to go!

We have been throwing around a number of ideas for a while now, as well as researching what other independent filmmakers have been doing with their similar programs.  I was actually astounded how many people are doing something fairly similar.  I found almost 50 different indie films that have some type of program that allows a motivated public to get involved with screening their films.  I think we have come up with a unique program, as well as one you could have fun with.  Because that is the bottom line.  It has to be something you really want to do, and something you could have fun doing.  And we will do everything in our power to help that happen for you.  We want to make it a win-win situation (no pun intended C. Sheen).

Anyway, for those of you who are interested but have not yet filled out the form here on our website about the program, go here – https://dreamsawakemovie.com/host-screening/ and we will email you all the updated information.  For those of you that already have, we will be emailing the updated program to you very soon.

Once again, we have 12 different possibilities for you to get involved, depending on how you want to approach it.  We will supply you with all the materials and support you need to make it a successful event for you.  Also we have some suggested guidelines to help you through the process of getting it all together, as well as for the event itself.

And finally, if you want yours truly to show up, I can do that if my schedule allows it.  As a general rule it would probably go like this:  I would have some opening remarks about the making of the film, say about 15 minutes, then we would screen the film, which is 105 minutes, and finally I would open it up for a question and answer session, and then we could wind it up into a general discussion about the issues the films brings up for any who want to do that.  This would probably take 30 minutes to an hour, maybe more if we really get into it.  All in all you’re looking at least at a 3-hour event and possibly longer.

Anyway, I hope this works for those of you who are interested.  If after you receive the information, you still have some questions or suggestions, please contact us.  We want to hear from you on this.  And by the way, at the present time we’re only doing this in the USA.  If some of you who are from other countries would like to do a progam like this, tell us how we can accommodate you.  Maybe it will be possible.  Thanks!
