Los Angeles, CA – (October 19, 2012) – The independently produced, award-winning film “Dreams Awake” recently screened at four different film festivals, winning three awards and being nominated for several others. With three more festivals on the horizon in November and December, the film to date has won 14 awards at 18 different film festivals.
At Vegas Cine Fest in Las Vegas, the film won the top award, Best Picture. Stars Erin Gray and Gary Graham attended, and were there to accept the award.
At the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema in the United Kingdom, at Westgate on Sea, the film won two awards, Best Feature Film and Best Lead Actress, Erin Gray. The Writer/Director Jerry Alden Deal and his wife Berry, the Executive Producer, were in attendance to accept it.
At the Marbella International Film Festival in Spain, the film was only one of three films nominated for Best Feature Film, out of more than thirty feature films that screened there. Another film, a romantic comedy, ‘Dorfman’ won the top prize.
In the near future, the film will be at the American Independent Film Festival in Beverly Hills, screening on Sunday, November 4, and at the International Film Festival Manhattan in Greenwich Village, screening on Wednesday, November 14.
In December, “Dreams Awake” will be the opening night, showcased film at the Monaco International Film Festival. It will screen on Friday night, December 7 at 8:30pm. The production company, Way To Go Media, will be hosting a formal gala after the screening.
“Dreams Awake” stars Erin Gray, Gary Graham and Tim O’Connor. Gray is known primarily for her lead roles in the TV series “Silver Spoons” and “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century,” but has also appeared in several other TV series’ and indie films. Graham starred in the TV series “Alien Nation” and “Star Trek Enterprise,” along with roles in a number of indie films. O’Connor came out of retirement to cap off his long career, which included starring opposite Erin Gray in “Buck Rogers,” as well as numerous roles dating back to the 1950s. He is primarily known for his role in the 1960’s TV series “Peyton Place.”
Billed as a mystical family drama, the story’s logline reads, “While on vacation a disconnected family gets stranded near mystical Mt. Shasta and amazing possibilities open up. A glimpse into the subtle but intense possibilities of the human spirit, this spiritual drama delves into that magical lore between reality and illusions, dreams and awake, and life and immortality.”
